7.1 Apply technology to the delivery of standards-based instruction. I have met this standard by designing and developing a WebQuest site. The activity on this Webquest site was designed according to Colorado Science Standards for High School. The activity was delivered through a website I created on Google sites. Therefore, I have the ability to apply technology to the delivery of standards-based education.
7.2 Use technology to increase student achievement. I have met this standard by using interactive web sites for review of material that provide immediate feedback and different phrasing of content to check for understanding. My students improved assessment scores using these tools for review. I am able to use technology to increase student achievement.
7.3 Utilize technology to manage and communicate information. I use Infinite Campus to record grades and communicate this and other information to parents. There is a messaging resource as well as record keeping tasks such as attendance and discipline issues. I am able to utilize technology to manage and communicate information.
7.4 Apply technology to data-driven assessments of learning. I used a rubric program to create an assessment tool for my WebQuest. I have used test-creator programs that allow you to focus on specific content areas and then use the resulting data to set best practices. I can apply technology to data-driven assessments of learning.
7.5 Instruct students in basic technology skills. I have modeled information searches using a projector with the students following along on their own computers. I use programs by the NIH that have the students manipulating information using graphing calculators and computer visuals. I want to show kids how to create digital stories using IMovie and podcasts using Audacity. I can instruct students in basic technology skills.
